"The steam tug Wattle is historically, socially and technologically significant at the national level as the only small harbour steam tug still surviving in Victoria."

Our Benefactors

As a not-for-profit charitable organization, Bay Steamers Maritime Museum Ltd relies on the generosity of a large number of supporters who give willingly of financial support and services and equipment, either free or at discounted cost.

Our owner and primary supporter for the period 2009-2022 was Sorrento Steam. On 1 July 2022, Sorrento Steam donated Wattle back to Bay Steamers Maritime Museum. The extraordinary contribution of $1.4 million from Sorrento Steam is gratefully acknowledged. Without it, Wattle may not have survived. We are also enormously grateful for a major donation in 2023 from the Gras Foundation.

Should you wish to join these supporters by contributing through donation, discount or services, please contact us. Bay Steamers Maritime Museum Ltd is registered as a Charitable Institution with ACNC and endorsed as a Deductible Gift Recipient, and your contribution may be tax deductible.
