About Us
Wattle is owned and operated by Bay Steamers Maritime Museum Ltd (ABN 30 005 229 238), a Public Company limited by guarantee and registered in September 1997 as successor to The Victorian Steamship Association Ltd. The Museum is a not-for-profit organisation registered as a Charitable Institution and endorsed as a Deductible Goods Recipient.
The objects of the Museum are the preservation, restoration and operation of historic ships, and the promotion and encouragement of interest in Australian maritime history.
The Museum is governed by a Memorandum of Understanding and Articles of Association. The Articles stipulate a Board of five Directors elected by the Members. The Chairman is appointed by the Board. Directors serve a term of one year and are eligible for re-election.
